.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Cell Therapy and Immune Cell Engager
Discovery Biology team is looking for an innovative, creative and
driven drug discovery immunologist to help advance our discovery
portfolio of anti-tumor cell therapies and immune cell engagers
into the clinic. The successful candidate will have experience in
antigen target identification and expression validation as well as
expertise in subsets of tumor associated immunity and the tumor
microenvironment. This scientist will work in a highly
collaborative, fast-paced environment involving multiple teams
across the company including predictive science, drug discovery,
translational and clinical teams. Responsibilities include but are
not limited to:
- Identification and validation of tumor antigens suitable for
targeting by cell therapies and immune engagers; requires
interfacing will multiple functional teams
- Understanding of tumor microenvironment specific restrictions
on immune cell infiltration and function and development of novel
concepts to overcome these using cell engineering approaches
- Independently conceive, develop and execute novel in vitro and
ex vivo assays/models to evaluate cell therapy efficacy in the
context of the tumor microenvironment
- Collaboration across multiple projects / roles in a matrixed
environment and obtaining alignment across key stakeholders and
different functional groups to drive decision making
- Designing and implementing critical studies required to drive
hypothesis-driven research
- Anticipate the need for contingencies and demonstrate
flexibility through development of alternative strategies
- Present project updates and recommendations to leadership teams
across the company
- May provide supervision of junior scientists
- Maintaining cutting edge knowledge of relevant research
fieldsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of academic and / or industry experienceOr
- Master's Degree
- 3+ years of academic and / or industry experienceOr
- Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences
- No experience necessaryPreferred Qualifications:
- Requires developed knowledge of the principles and concepts of
biological sciences, immunology, bioengineering, or related
discipline
- Experience with cellular therapy or immune engagers is an
advantage
- Experience with tumor antigen targeting validation studies in
an advantage
- Experience with cutting edge technologies typically employed to
assess immune cell function including but not limited to subset of
Luminex, MSD, IncuCyte-based assays, multi-parameter flow
cytometry, T cell activation assays, myeloid cell functional
assays, heterotypic cell cultures, imaging technologies, molecular
characterization of gene expression and protein expression (e.g.
Taqman, western blot, Citeseq etc)
- Demonstration of in-depth, scientific-directed, innovative
thinking
- Self-motivated and focused with project management-oriented
thinking; able to work on multiple projects in a matrix
environment
- Ability to work well as both team member and as individual
contributor is essential
- Good communication skills for cross-functional, management and
external interactions; excellent oral presentation skills are
critical
- Requires strong organizational skills to ensure thorough and
timely documentation of experiments, and preparation of data for
compiling reports and presentations to research and corporate teams
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $97,000 -
$121,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on
eligibility).The starting pay rate takes into account
characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the
job is performed.Final, individual compensation will be decided
based on demonstrated experience.Eligibility for specific benefits
